Students Reflect on their Work

All fall, students explored art media and ideas through discovery learning. After the winter break, they returned to school and chose their favorite artwork to discuss through reflective writing. Here are a few reflections by fifth graders:

 Cartoon Mushroom

Cartoon Mushroom

“I made a mushroom out of clay and it is like a cartoon. It’s on a patch of grass. It has a tannish, whiteish stem with a reddish pinkish top with white polka dots.”

Organized Chaos

Organized Chaos

“Organized Chaos is a set of popsicle sticks glued on popsicle sticks glued on popsicle sticks in no planned design. Then I splat painted it with silver, orange and gold.”
